Last time we talked about whether now was a good time to buy a home, short sale vs. foreclosure and a few fun videos... Visit our newsletter archive for this and other past newsletters on www.cwcfinancial.com.
This month we have a couple of things on the lighter side as well as a couple of things on the serious side of real estate.
Interest Rate Forecast
Mortgage rates continue to be great but that could end abruptly with the Fed's published decision to stop buying mortgage backed securities. This is scheduled to end in March and if you have read our prior newsletters, you know that this 1.2 trillion dollar purchase program has been a key driver in determining most mortgage rates. We find it hard to believe that they will actually stop but based on what Bernanke said yesterday, it sounds like it may actually happen - and if it does, we expect rates to increase about 1% - gone may be the days of 5% fixed interest rates...
Present Day vs. the Great Depression
The following article was provided by Mark Hanson and we believe he found it on drhousingbubble.com... if you didn't know it was written back then, you could have easily thought it was written today. Click here for the article - it's pretty interesting.
We all need a little sugar
Cookie Contest - The lucky winner will receive Donna de Surville's (www.makemudpies.com) famous chocolate chip cookies delivered warm to their door with a jug of ice cold organic milk (or two big frozen logs of her dough shipped on ice to slice and bake at home if you live outside of Marin County, CA). On the lighter side
A first grade girl handed in the drawing below for a homework assignment....before reading on, try and figure out what Mommy does for a living...

After it was graded and the child brought it home, she returned to school the next day with the following note:
Dear Ms. Davis,
I want to be very clear on my child's illustration. It is NOT of me on a dance pole on a stage in a strip joint. I work at Home Depot and had commented to my daughter how much money we made in the recent snowstorm. This drawing is of me selling a shovel.
Mrs. Harrington
Too funny...
As always, we welcome you to give us a call or drop us a note anytime so that we can analyze your individual situation and advise what strategy might serve your best interest based on the present market.
